Unused stays carry forward to the next year. Here is exactly how the card-year clock works.
Your card carries stays, not credit. The 5-stay card holds five stays of three nights and the 10-stay card holds ten, valid for ten years from activation — and a night is a night at whichever partner hotel you spend it.
The clock starts on your activation date, not in January. You can use one stay in each card year. If you skip a year, that stay is not lost: it carries forward to the next year.
Carried nights can be combined. If you have stays in hand from earlier years, you can join their nights into one longer visit instead of taking them three nights at a time.
Only cancellations cost nights. You can cancel free of charge up to 72 hours before arrival and the nights return to your card. Within 72 hours of arrival, or on a no-show, one night is deducted and does not come back.
