شش ماه نرخ عمومی در برابر نرخ اعضا در چهار هتل دبی. فاصله آنجایی نیست که انتظار دارید.
A public rate is a shop window. It has to work for every traveller who might see it — the family booking eleven months out, the consultant booking at midnight, the aggregator reselling the same room three ways. It is priced for the average, and averages are expensive.
Over six months we tracked the same four Dubai properties: a Palm Jumeirah resort, a waterfront palace, a downtown tower and a beach club in the northern emirates. We logged the advertised rate for a standard king every Tuesday, and set it beside the member rate held for cardholders on the same night.
The interesting part is not the size of the gap. It is where the gap sits. On low-demand midweek nights the two rates converge — a hotel with empty rooms will discount in public and there is little left to negotiate. The difference opens up in the weeks that matter: half-term, the last two weeks of December, race weekends. Exactly when public prices climb, a held allocation at an agreed rate is worth the most.
That is the whole logic of the card. You are not buying a discount code. You are buying a position in the queue, at a price fixed before demand arrived.
